Frequently Asked Questions

What allergens does this contain?

This product contains oats and peanuts, and the nut and seed mix includes almonds. Anyone with an allergy to these ingredients should not consume this product. Please read the full ingredient list carefully before purchasing, particularly when buying on behalf of someone else.

Is it sweet, given there is no sugar in it?

Mildly. The sweetness comes from monk fruit extract and the raisins in the mix rather than from sugar, so it reads as a gently sweet chocolate rather than a dessert. The cocoa is unsweetened, which keeps the flavour closer to dark chocolate than milk.

What makes it so high in protein without protein powder?

Peanuts, mostly. Between the unsweetened peanut butter at 26% and the peanut protein, they carry the bulk of it — so the protein comes from food rather than an isolate stirred in. That is also why the texture is creamier than plain oats.

Can I eat it without cooking it?

Yes. It works stirred into yoghurt, blended into a smoothie, or soaked overnight in milk. Eaten dry by the handful it works as a snack too, since the peanut butter binds the oats into loose clusters.

What is monk fruit extract?

A sweetener made from a small melon grown in southern China, many times sweeter than sugar so only a tiny amount is needed. It contributes no sugar and no calories of its own, which is how the mix stays sweet without any being added.
