Frequently Asked Questions

What allergens does this contain?

This product contains oats, soya and peanuts. Anyone with an allergy to these ingredients, or with coeliac disease, should not consume this product. Please read the full ingredient list carefully before purchasing, particularly when buying on behalf of someone else.

Does it actually taste of coffee, and will it keep me awake?

Yes to the first — instant coffee is blended through, so it comes out as a mild coffee porridge rather than a hint. At 4% of the mix, a 40g serving carries far less caffeine than a cup of coffee, so it will not replace your morning brew.

Can I use it in anything other than a bowl of porridge?

Yes. It blends into smoothies, stirs into pancake batter, and works as the base for overnight oats. Because the protein, sweetness and flavour are already in the mix, you are adding one thing rather than three.

Why peanut butter in a breakfast oat mix?

It does two jobs at once — it carries a good share of the protein, and the fat gives the finished porridge a creamier texture than oats alone produce. It is unsweetened, so it adds body and a nutty background without making it sweeter.

What is jaggery, and is this a sweet breakfast?

Jaggery is unrefined sugar made by boiling down sugarcane juice, so it keeps some of the cane’s molasses and tastes more caramel than plain sweet. It is lightly sweetened rather than sugary — enough that most people add nothing, but still a sweetened product.
